What this Ultimate Tic Tac Toe game does
Ultimate Tic Tac Toe is a bigger version of the classic game. It is also sometimes called Mega Tic Tac Toe because the board is made from nine smaller Tic Tac Toe boards. You can play against the computer or choose two-player mode and share the same screen.
The game keeps the same simple idea of three in a row, but every move also controls where the next player must play. That extra rule makes the game more strategic without making the controls complicated.
How to play
The first player can place X in any open small board. After that, the cell you choose sends the other player to the matching small board. For example, if you play in the center cell of a small board, the next player must play in the center small board of the big board.
Win a small board to claim that square on the big board. The first player to claim three small boards in a row, column, or diagonal wins the full game. If the target board is already won or full, the next player may choose any open board.
Strategy tips
Try not to send your opponent to a board where they can win immediately. Corners and the center are usually valuable because they help create more big-board winning lines. Sometimes the best move is not a local win; it is a move that sends the other player somewhere weak.
Easy computer mode is casual, normal mode watches for common threats, and hard mode searches a few moves ahead with a board-scoring system. Hard mode is meant to be strong and responsive, not a perfect solved opponent.
Privacy
The game runs in your browser. Your moves are not uploaded by this page. The only saved data is the local score on your device, and you can remove it with Reset score.
